Welcome to AscendantStyles (the “App” or “Services”), owned and operated by Word Cloud Trivia LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Account Information: Name, email address, and user ID when you sign in via Apple, Google, or email (through Firebase Authentication).
• Astrological & Profile Data: Date of Birth, Time of Birth, Birth Location (city/state), and style preferences (e.g., Casual, Edgy). Date of Birth is considered sensitive personal information.
• Location Information: City-level location (manually entered or selected) or precise GPS location (if you grant permission).

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device information, operating system, device type, timezone, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token.
• App usage data, including outfits generated and interaction history.
• Approximate or precise location (depending on permissions) to provide weather-appropriate styling suggestions.

C. Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information (such as your email) from Apple or Google when you use their sign-in services.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide cross-device syncing.
• To calculate your Rising Sign and generate personalized outfit suggestions using your birth data, style preferences, and local weather.
• To deliver daily push notifications (you can opt out in device settings).
• To enforce daily generation limits and prevent abuse.
• To process subscriptions and payments via RevenueCat.
• To improve the App, conduct analytics, and provide customer support.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We share information with the following third parties:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, database, and push notifications.
• RevenueCat: To manage subscriptions and entitlements.
• OpenAI API: We send your Rising Sign, style preferences, and weather data (but not raw date/time of birth) to generate outfit descriptions. We have configured our API usage so that this data is not used to train OpenAI’s models.
• Open-Meteo: To retrieve local weather conditions using city or coordinates.
• Service Providers: Analytics, hosting, and customer support tools as needed.

We do not directly transmit your account information, birth information, style preferences, or location information to Amazon. When you choose to open an Amazon link, you will leave the App and Amazon may collect information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through affiliate links.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in the context of a business transfer.

4. Your Rights and Choices

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App’s Settings screen under the Support section. This will permanently delete your account, birth data, preferences, and history. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through Apple or Google.

Other Rights (CCPA, GDPR, etc.)

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information (including sensitive data such as Date of Birth).
• Opt out of targeted advertising or data “sales/sharing” where applicable.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. After account deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal data as required by law.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure. Please use strong passwords and keep your login credentials confidential.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers from the EU/UK/Switzerland.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes and update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
